Command-line arguments are given after the name of a program in command-line operating systems like DOS or Linux, and are passed in to the program from the operating system.
When using the DOS command prompt, enter the name of the program, followed by the option you wish to use. For example:
C:\Program Files\Fishinator 2 Extreme>fishinator2extreme.exe /feed
You can also invoke a command line option by making changes to your shortcut.
By creating multiple shortcuts and making changes to each one, you can create
shortcuts on your desktop to perform functions automatically.
Right click on a shortcut icon to Fishinator 2 Extreme, and click "Properties".
Then edit the Target box..
"C:\Program Files\Fishinator 2 Extreme\fishinator2extreme.exe" /feed
The same target can be specified when setting up a Scheduled Task in Windows Scheduler.
Fishinator 2 Extreme! will only allow one command line option at a time.
This option will feed all your fish in all the tanks and then exit the program.
This option will feed and then apply Fish-Nip to all the fish in all the tanks and then exit the program.
This option will perform a backup of your user data files with a date and time stamp. The backup will be available in the Backup / Restore section of Fishinator 2 Extreme!
This option will automatically run the Tank Check-up feature of the Special Tank Tools and then exit the program.
It is easy enough to set up Windows Scheduler to take advantage of feeding your fish every day. I would also recommend setting up a daily backup using the same method. This would safe guard your data. A special shortcut could be set up on your desktop or in the start menu to automate repairing your tanks in case you end up in Tank 6-1.
